  • in a C7alt chord you can move the notes in Dbm6+dim scale or C7b5+dim scale. You have in Barry's web site a program where you can input a voicing or chord and say what scales match it

  • tinogilito,

How can I get hold of a copy of this video. This is amazing stuff.

  • All the movies are short shots taked with my cell phone. It isn't a complete video. You can record this movies in your computer with some software. Anyway, I'll upload all my movies in this months. Next workshop (in september) more movies.

  • I'm gonna study Barry's videos much more now. Thanks for the upload.

  • @ 1:40 in "Stella By Starlight" Harris has to negotiate that [what I call] "dead harmonic zone" before the Amflat5-D7-G7...

  • test

  • Thanks. You could create a nice blog out of these videos, with a paragraph or two explaining what it is he is demonstrating.

  • tino, these videos are great. Please keep them coming if you have more.

  • Sight misprint-- I spent a week in Switzerland with Barry, not Spain. Ishould also mention I attended Barry's NYC weekly workshop for over two years. I mention this to emphasize how much I really, REALLY enjoy these Barray Harris video clips. Please, post more! Their shortness is a great feature because it makes it possible to play them repeatedly.

  • This is fantastic. I spent a week in Spain with Barry, and I flew to the Hague to spend a week with Barry. But I can honestly say I learn much, much more from these fabulous UTube videos of Barry than I do working with him in person. The reason is that I can play these UTube videos over and over and over. Thank you so much for uploading these wonderful videos. I love the way they are short and each covers a discrete topic. Thanks again!

  • How nice: 'The piano is a horizontal instrument...'

  • nobody moves chords like Barry

many don't realize how he's advanced the music.

    he's the Chopin of jazz!!
