NYSID - Jobs Well Done - The Altamont Project

New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc. puts New Yorkers with disabilities to work in jobs they want. NYSID jobs serve a diverse population of abilities!

NYSID Preferred Source contracts with state and local government agencies enable more than 7,000 people with disabilities to be part of New York's workforce, to become taxpayers and contribute to their communities.

These contracts are important since studies show that even in good economic times people with disabilities are often those who have the hardest time finding employment.

Through Preferred Source contracts, NYSID has provided jobs to veterans and a diverse group of New Yorkers with disabilities through The Altamont Project, a subsidiary of Peter Young Housing, Industries and Treatment in Albany, NY.
