Standard & Poor's (S&P) is a United States-based financial services company that publishes financial research and analysis on stocks and bonds. In its latest rating, the Agency looked at the US Government Treasury bond and said that there is a1 in 3 chance that US will lose its triple A (AAA: the highest rating available) rating.

  • That theme tune is a musical abomination.

  • I'm not sure why other countries are allowing the US to keep its AAA rating when others are losing theirs for less. Seems something is very wrong here!

  • they said everything was aaa in 2008 i dont kno who to belive anumore

  • @ToxicDreamer - Yes, I agree, but then system should not have been allowed to get like this - to scale that it has become. I agree that the system is now set up that only a selected few are allowed to gain any sort of real wealth which is often as the expense of the people. The people need to demand change, but most don't, they are too accepting of thngs.

  • @Saywhatyoumust

nobody becomes wealthy by being honest and playing by the rules... the rules are put in place to make it so only a few people can become wealthy and to keep everyone else from gaining wealth. :P

  • @ToxicDreamer - Then perhaps it's up to the people to to not work for the bankers and so something about it all.

I remember (I was young though) when someone's only debt was a mortgage. It was rare to have car payments, pay for clothes, vacations etc., with borrowed money via a credit card etc. It was a cash society for the best part and imo, it needs to go back to cash. If you don't have the cash, you don't buy it. A salary based (honest) mortgage is the only exception.

  • @Saywhatyoumust

out debt rating won't be downgraded until the american government topples every government in the middle east for the new world order.... we work for the bankers..... :P

  • @dazzagazza6969 - It's just the truth and the UK and a few other puppet brown nosing countries are just as bad. But once the US declines so will the puppet countries. i do believe once the US/UK and Israel for starters fall somewhat - the world will be a much better place.

  • @Saywhatyoumust I agree. I don't hear many Americans who speak ill of their countries actions. Hopefully, there is a enough like you to win your country back (for the sake of peace and the world economy). 60 years ago USA used to be a country of 'hope' for the world. Unfortunately, now it only promotes pro-US government whether dictatorships, religious apartheid, monarchs, military coups, etc.

  • Which is about to come to an end! The US cannot be a super-power with this kind of debt. This country simply cannot and will not be able to sustain spending $1 Trillion a year just on the military alone without going broke - It's totally irresponsible! The US is making enemies for the sake of Israel and its insatiable greed for oil. This country likes to think it promotes freedom and democracy, but that is a joke and oh the sheer hypocrisy of it all!
