Repair wooden doors and hardwood floors - Andy Bell of Handyman Matters shows us that when there are scratches on doors from your pets it's an easy fix to get them back to normal. Just take a little bit of drywall and cover the scratches, dry it with a hair dryer and then take a small screwdriver and add the same markings as the rest of the door and then paint. Now for the hardwood floors if there are just surface scratches they will come out with vinegar water, but if they are deeper you need to sand the area first and maybe use some wood filler after that add some polyurethane to finish it up. Simple training of the pets no matter how old they are can prevent them from running around and scratching up the floors.

  • Use Bondo it's much harder and holds up much better than Durabond drywall mud.

Use an aerosol to topcoat and never use wood putty to fill scratches. Use a wood epoxy. It's more durable and stains better using Exact Match Wood Touch Up

  • scarifying is to engrave it in your brain..like a scar!
