Buddha's Birthday is the occasion of two fine parades through the heart of Seoul every year, one in the afternoon, followed at dusk by the beautiful lantern light parade. This is selected clips from the first parade, which was launched under a light but steady drizzle that tapered off as the marches progressed. The parade route is always packed, and so the forest of umbrellas made conditions less than perfect for recording, but no spirits were dampened, and as parades go, it was well brought off.
