Two identical Notebooks (Acer Travelmate 5330) will boot with Ubuntu 11.10 (left) and Ubuntu 11.04 (right)

Ubuntu 11.10 wins very shortly before Ubuntu 11.04. By the previous login the network (WLAN) will be activated immediately. The notebook with 11:10 is immediately ready for use immediately after the boot process.
Whether the brand new Ubuntu 11:10 now really a better version must decide each self.

  • i think you need to switch the position of the laptops and take another reading ! :O

  • hey man you can change the annoying music at start just go to start up applications and chage it there

  • I think you need to do this test again but firstly, use a fresh user profile on both. Secondly, ensure that both of them auto login and don't require any passwords.

I personally find 11.10 slower than 11.04 in both boot up times and general use. However, I have yet to try 11.10 from a fresh install, only as an upgrade.

  • I'm a big Linux and Ubuntu fan. My computer boots WAY faster than this. I can get a web browser going in around 15 or 20 seconds. I'm blaming the laptops used here, not the OS.

  • jeez i could make some coffeee by now

runs both over with your car

  • Ubuntu fast but Acer slow :D and tester need some Linux education........
