Only five years ago, programs like "ER," "The West Wing," and "The Wire" were exploring the major policy issues of our times: access to health care; the war in Iraq; and the battle over drug abuse in the inner city. Television in the past has played a vibrant role in dramatizing the complexities of policy debate, but are shows today continuing that legacy? Do dramatic programs capture and reflect social policy issues and dilemmas? In light of the demise of print journalism, is television presenting more policy, and if it's not, should that be its role? The advent of new media's blogs, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube vie for the audiences' attention and have changed the way they get their stories.

  • And this is why SVU is going downhill. I love it and want it to last several more seasons, but at this rate, it won't make it past season 12.

  • Thanks for making us feel like your fans don't matter Neal... way to go. Thanks for using Mariska and Chris to further YOUR agenda. Did you think we wouldn't eventually see this video?

  • Oh God. with all these rumors of SVU ending...thank god CI went to USA Network...ill have to start watching that.

LOLA is gonna suck...way to fuck up nbc

  • Is this a joke? Tell me that this is a joke. smh.

  • neal. neal. neal. oh, how you have disappointed us. not out to entertain? educate? because you have done both. so...i don't know exactly what your goal is, however, you never cease to disappoint. the last three episodes have been fantastic, however, i will be very upset if what your letting on is true. season twelve the last? well that would be a horrible move. first of all, what about the stars? mariska, for one, can't imagine life w/out the show. don't fix something that isn't broken.

  • I am officially divorcing him. He can go fuck himself. He hopes to have an audience and wants to capture the audience, but he doesn't care about entertaining us? The fuck? Seriously? I am so sure that season 12 is the last. *shakes head*

  • I'm only 12 minutes in and I want to seriously throttle this sorry excuse for a show runner.
