Winky (Scotty Beckett) performs a lullaby (composed by Beckett himself) for Bobby (Robert Lyden) in this episode of Rocky Jones, Space Ranger that was later edited into the movie "Manhunt in Space".

Manhunt in Space itself was of course featured in episode 413 of Mystery Science Theater, and is also is one of the "new" features for Inventing Situations' [ http://sector7g-zz9.com/is/ ] 2007 Bake Your Own Turkey Day Marathon [ http://sector7g-zz9.com/is/tday.php ].

  • Musical Instrument cobbled together with an Orbit Jet and Space Station prop from the series. CLASSIC.

BTW.. the celeste was a rather popular accompanyment in pop music during the early 1950's.

  • @newwavepopman

No insults, but Scotty was more like a male version of Lindsay Lohan before there was ever a Lindsay Lohan. Scotty was a sad case with drugs and alcohol. All the talent and all the insanity wrapped up in one person. In the middle of filming Rocky Jones, Scotty was arrested on a weapons charge. Scotty personified Hollywood consuming its young.

  • I liked Joel's version better.

  • holy cow, look up "treacle" in the dictionary

  • I was born in 1950, I saw this show when it was first aired. I'm a huge Scotty Beckett fan. When I was in high school I heard he killed himself. A very sad day. Search "The Happy Years" on you tube to see another Scotty Beckett classic!

  • I guess it dosen't matter how old u r, some things just do change as time does.

  • Rocky Jones will always be cool!!! It doesn't matter how old you are or what era you are from. I was born in '82, and I love the show.

  • We get it, just not without Tom Servo or Crow.

  • I was really young when I use to watch this show. I still woke up at 6am on Saturdays just to watch it. The kids now adays would not get it.

  • It's still a heck of a lot better than that garbage on the tube these days. I wonder why no one has ever ressurected this show like everything else. Valerie Bertinelli would make an excellent Cleolanthe!
