Yeah, i love a good sad song too - when you're down, yes, exactly, you have some company - my alternative to sad is high energy, jazz-rock fusion for example - but sometimes (late November usually) I start listening to old Brian Ferry CDs ah well, as the song says, stand up on your legs, be like two fried eggs, keep your sunny side up :) Cheers Edom666devore

more & more I seem to see that in the end it's the will to be happy that keeps us from despairing - & if a good joke, a hearty laugh, can improve one's outlook and relieve the strain for a moment, then Hey! for a joke -

@SupernalOne its all about what you are born into... yes we are fortunate but every one has feelings like everyone looses loved ones no matter where..... get this there are kids in Africa who are hungry smiling having a good day for them right now and there is a guy crying eating soup because he just got fired from their job... its not what you have money cant buy happiness it can help for awhile but if you are poor another kind of sad its more hopeless i get depression neuro chemical = sadness

rather ripped and sonic nurse are both killer albums muarry street and nyc ghosts and flowers i see those albums as revival of the band after taking that low blow by an asshole fan or someone who needs to learn respect!!! with all the stolen gear ....imagine owning 100 guitars and stuff like so rare and its tuned for your songs and one day ya have only practice instruments ...who knows did they even write down all the tunings for 0ver 5000 songs fills up an i pod 4 sure keep it up!

well, not to dump on SY in particular; but having had bad times gives an artist an edge in their work, maybe, or a sense of realism - still, what the hell, everyone has sadness in life, it doesn't matter how bad it is on an absolute scale, if it hurts it's real - & everyone who can think ahead has angst about mortality - and the young need to face fear & pain early, to develop defenses - or whatever, I'm just rambling. Still, I like SY, they were my favorite band at Lollaplooza
