Sentinelese

Pre-historic people of Sentinel living in an isolated island of Sentinel. In a way they are people of Eden Garden but they seem to disprove the theory of Eden Garden....judge for yourself.

I am asked this very often:

Eden but no Eden?

Yes, Eden as I mentioned was in figurative sense i.e. these people live in self-sufficient garden

but

Eden as we read in religious texts is being proved wrong here. We can know how. In religious texts they say that the first couple came to know abt their nudity after eating the forbidden fruit. We see all of them to be completely NUDE which proves the Abrahamic religions are proved wrong here. So the crafty theory of Eden is wrong in toto.

So they live in Eden-like place but they also prove the Eden theory wrong.




Fact 1. Sentinelese dont know that they are naked coz they didnt cover their genitals.

Fiction : Religious texts tell that Satan make Adam and Eve aware of their plight as naked persons and then onwards Adam and Eve started covering their genitals.

Sentinelese prove this story/theory wrong.

Fact 2. They are in couples (of course, it's natural. I must be silly to think otherwise). One woman is seen taking her man from the trouble not bothering abt other men/couples around.

Fact 3 : They have some wooden hooks and some are seen with wooden knives tucked in waist belts. Since they cant have metal ones (dont have access to metals and dont know the knowledge of metallurgy), they devised wooden stuff to 'get & process' food. In the present case it's coconut.

They have some form of 'language' as it's evident from children shouting something with natural body language signifying ' throw them all (coconuts)'.

There's a man with a flowery crown and a thick, glittering ring around his neck. This guy cud be the 'king' of the tribe.
The KING of Sentinelese is like anybody else but with added resposnibility of the community like facing the inctruders. The watchmen were not wearing any headbands and the collections of coconuts is done by the men with headbands. So the heirarchy is well ordered and defined. Division of duties and responsibilities.

Bad. One botched throw by the 'civilized people' scared away an anxious woman and children.

Anyway these reclusive tribe had traits that are similar to ours BUT they are similar to us when we're pre-historic.

THIS IS THE ONLY TIME THESE SENTINELESE DONT ENCOUNTER INTRUDERS WITHOUT BOW & ARROWS. EVEN THEY CARRY THEM EVERYTIME (IN PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS) THEY DONT SHOW THEM OFF NOW TO THESE INTRUDERS I.E. THERE'S AN ATTEMPT BY SENTINELESE NOT TO FRIGHTEN THE INTRUDERS.

As per the previous reports these Sentinelese killed 3 fishermen who went to the island after their boat went adrift when they're in inebriated conndition. The consequence is that the 3 men were killed with arrows and they were buried! So disposing off the dead was known to these pre-historic ppl. It may not be that they learnt from others but it's something of a 'natural' action compelled by the necessity to put the dead back to earth and forget about it - something of a human quality i.e different from animal instincts.

I don't get why people want to come tot he island to "help" and "educate" them.. They seem to have survived just fine without all our technology and stress...

@Slippymicky you are the most ignorant anthropologist I have ever come across. I hope that you are a 16 year old just 'talking' over the internet.. how is leaving them alone to live their lifestyle keeping them in a zoo?

oh excuse me of course! they deserve ipods and coffee and to get assimilated into our type of lifestyle and adopt our cultures and believe our religions all the while destroying everything they have. most of them probably live happier lives than most '1st world people' anyways.

@chesita Well as an Anthropologist there is just too must valuable information to glean from these people. We are already lobbying the Indian government to have permission to go to the island and handle the transition.

But once we show them what the rest of the world is like they'll be all ready for Ipods and cups of Joe. We're lobbying the Indian government right now to be the first to make official contact.

Missionaires will not stay away from them... I was a small child when i first saw missionaires here in Bosnia after the war in 1995 trying to get ppl to become christians or jehowas witnesses... They provide people with stupid stories and books like Bible and some shitty food rations....

What's best for some is not for others. You can't try to change people, you can't just destroy their cultures, religions, and you can't try to make them like you. A lot of people don't realize that. And I hope missionaries stay away from these people.
