Hiatus - Tiny Doors (feat. Shura)

Yesterday afternoon Shura and I met for a rehearsal in south London. I'd spent the morning on the South Bank, writing about my own memories of September 11th and reflecting on all that had changed in the world and in my life during the ten years since; she'd been at her place watching live coverage of the commemoration in New York.

When we arrived at the studio, neither of us was much in the mood for rehearsing. I began playing a simple piano line, and Shu started harmonising over it. The result was the following song, roughly recorded there and then and given almost nothing in the way of post-production. Hope you don't mind us sharing it with you -- it seemed sort of fitting.

heh, came back from work, loaded up youtube, "oh goody! new Hiatus upload" and left it to play while I was changing and similar stuff.

By the time the track ended I was just sitting in my chair staring blindly at the monitor doing nothing.
