Theodor W. Adorno - Studies for String Quartet - Movement 2 (Leipziger Streichquartett)

The second part of Adornos Studies for String Quartet. Again he's reflecting a specific movment of string quartets. The - in total - six studies were composed 1920, before Adorno went to Vienna in 1925 to study composition with Alban Berg. Berg was along with Arnold Schönberg one of the most influential composer of 12-tone music (Dodecaphony). This 'New Music' were often reflected in Adornos theoretical work. For an introduction to this work you can read 'Essays on Music' (2002) edited and commentated by Richard Leppert.
My video plays along with the music and is my personal interpretation of it. Hope you enjoy!

This is like San Francisco in the 1980s where your gay friend at the computer firm where you both work invites you to his premiere in a SOMA garage and you try your best to listen and be nice because he's penniless despite the job and HIV positive.

And because of this you find yourself entranced and really listening.

He then develops full blown AIDs and dies. And for what it's worth, YOU just had a genuine artistic experience as opposed to the false crap experience they want you to have.

As a comment, you haved had created a very strange atmosphera in wich the composite form made of the image and the music, relates to some characteristic elements that constituted the ouvre of Eisenstein, specially that fragment in wich appears the girl with two knives.
