Recorded 1955. Maxine is flawless as ever, and this is a personal favorite.

  • Oh my, gone are the days when singers just sang - without gimmicks and attitude.

Thanks for posting this - I really enjoyed it - a lovely lady with a lovely voice.

A singer who can actually sing! I hate scat and rap (crap).

  • Totally tasty, with her usual, effortless swing. This was truly one of the great songbirds. (I was lucky enough to see her live midday at St. Peter's in NYC in the early 1980s, and the lady could still get the room cooking without breaking a sweat.) Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

  • oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is so beautiful

  • the best version.

  • Beautiful voice! So clear!

  • the voice is flawless and her phrasing is so incredible and personal......her slight emphasis on certain words make this a unique version of a lovely lovely song....But back to that voice....there's just no one like her and it surprises me that she is not as well known as Ella and Billie and Dinah. Thank you for posting !

  • i wish the we all could know more about her

  • Very enjoyable, elegant. Beautiful voice, beautiful lady. Love the story. (lyrics)
