@JohnLennon100 Although her hands look like manipulative (and I'm sure her loaves came out perfectly fine), it's best not to use a rolling pin for bread dough and when shaping baguettes, it is more effective to use the palm of your hand as opposed to your finger tips. A lot of flavor is brought out in those air pockets and if you use a rolling pin and your finger tips, you burst those air pockets and your bread will have less flavor.

@atikker, Haha, scoring bread does make the final loaf look pretty and it's really up to you how you score it, but if you don't, the bread may "blow out" somewhere unexpectedly and look very unattractive. Scoring promotes a better flavor and adds variation to the crust, and helps the bread rise upwards instead of out.

Hi, I'm a total novice - is there a reason for slashing besides how pretty it looks? :)

Looks like the bread that my Gram use to make years ago, I use to rip off an end within a few minutes after it came out of the oven. LOL she use to yell at me and chase me. * really miss those days * ty for the video :)
