Polls have shown that the majority of the Palestinians want peace with Israel on its legal borders, so obviously the reason why they voted for Hamas is not because "the said they'd wipe out Israel". Plus, it would then have been pathologically stupid to vote for Hamas, when Hamas said it's ready to recognize Israel on its legal borders when Israel pulls out from the occupied territories.

The UN decision was made ONLY because of US influence. Also, the historical jewish claim to the land is ridiculous. The bible speaks of many tribes in that area, and what happened to them?
