Troops display their prowess to the world by arresting KP.08.08.2009-ITN News Sri Lanka

President of the Jathika Nidhas Peramuna and Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa has said that the apprehension of Kumaran Pathmanathan has shattered the dream of an Eelam state as the Tamil Eelam state died with the murder of Prabhakaran.
He pointed out that with the demise of Vellupillai Prabhakaran, the Tamil Eelam practically drew to an end. Thereafter, KP attempted to build a shadow Eelam state and revive the outfit. He was the only senior LTTE leader left. The LTTE has now been completely wiped out with his arrest by the Security Forces. Hopes of any individual that there could be a revival of the LTTE through KP have now been shattered. Mr. Weerawansa said our Security Forces had clearly displayed their prowess by arresting the only LTTE leader left, through international operations.

He expressed these views joining in the opening of an office of his party in Kaduwela. Parliamentarian Achala Jagoda and Western Provincial Councillor Roger Seneviratne were present.
