Set Play vs. 2-3 Zone Defense

This is a set play we run against a 2-3 zone defense. You really need a strong ball handler at the 1 position who can maintain the dribble while reading the defense.

Hey im 13 and my team has alot of skill. We have good speed but not much size. Would this play work well without a size advantage? I think these plays are genious and I wish my coach would watch these because our plays are terrible.

Hey Sig,

This play should work regardless of size if you're able to (1) set proper screens, (2) have a PG who can handle the ball with court vision and read the defense, and (3) everyone must understand the play and how to make each defensive read. Good luck and thanks for the comment.

dude we were down one in final secons with my team i did the play where the 2 gaurd cuts and we beat em thanks

the last play is good, if the 2 guard's defender is "ball watching". As a pg, if I see that my defender switched. My 5 man is bigger than his defender, so I'd rather have him roll if the 4 man rotated to the other low block. 2 guard is more reliable on the foul line, but if my 5 man takes it strong, he can draw fouls and get the basket. My center need to build his confidence in the offensive end as well. Good plays tho. Post more.

cool basic but effective plays, i didnt know tht 2-3 zone has tht many loop holes. most of the time my teammates just takes jumpshots when facing the zone, but this changes everything.
