A total of 67,883 Australian citizens speak the Macedonian language besides the official English, reads 2006 census data of the Australian Statistical Office, MIA reports.

According to the data, the Macedonian languages is fifth on the list of European languages spoken in Australia.

Italian leads the way, spoken by 316,894 people, then Greek - 252,216, Spanish - 97,996 and German - 75,625.

MD: There is probably a much bigger number of Macedonians in Australia than the outcome of this census.
