  • Can you tell me the difference? I find it kind of confusing sometimes. I call this rocksteady, because it has a kind of rhythmic swing, and I can dance to this. I can't dance to ska.

  • @poptart9 If you was a mod or soulie in the 60`s it was known as blue beat but it is technically Ska which is fast and upbeat , where rocky steady is slower and more laid back .. then you got Reggae ... but blue beat is my fave .....

  • @keepingthefaith72 I was to off my head to tell one from the other .

  • @thedavidjoss46 We all have one thing we agree on ,and that is its an Awesome classic track ....

  • top tune.my partner and i went to ibiza in september the place to party but we went in scooters bar alot just 2 bop around the dancefloor.to all these catchy dance tunes.i liked the nice touch some guy did by putting talc on floor proper dancin away.

  • Magik sound it cost 0-6s4p in the sixties we all played it to death it became the beginning sounds of the specials etc and went onward and upward forever!!!!

  • @dcsoxford One Step Beyond , another class track ... sounds like these never die they just get better ....

  • @keepingthefaith72 You are right ktf72.

Bit of a giveaway as "Bluebeat" is the record label !!!!! hahahahahaha.

These 'types' of music were not around at the same time, but were a progression of West Indian (mainly from JA) music from the early 60's until early 70's with the generic 'Reggae' which crossed over to pop.

P.S. got this on my jukebox,,,,may have heard the 'B' side somewhere it's called :-

    "One Step Beyond"

    Del.

  • RIP GEORGE CAMERON"RASTA FARIE".

  • @poptart9 Its about body bits.

    soul-just move the feet.

    rocksteady-feet and shoulders.

    ska-all is fair game.

  • this was known as ska where i came from ...it had just taken off in my school youth centre fairlop in barkingside...mostly guys dancing...and this one was the favorite along with guns of navarone...

  • What are you talking about ? If this is not Ska then what is it.
