"I have not invented a "new style," composite, modified or otherwise that is set within distinct form as apart from "this" method or "that" method. On the contrary, I hope to free my followers from clinging to styles, patterns, or molds. Remember that Jeet Kune Do is merely a name used, a mirror in which to see "ourselves". . . Jeet Kune Do is not an organized institution that one can be a member of. Either you understand or you don't, and that is that. There is no mystery about my style. My movements are simple, direct and non-classical. The extraordinary part of it lies in its simplicity. Every movement in Jeet Kune-Do is being so of itself. There is nothing artificial about it. I always believe that the easy way is the right way. Jeet Kune-Do is simply the direct expression of one's feelings with the minimum of movements and energy. The closer to the true way of Kung Fu, the less wastage of expression there is. Finally, a Jeet Kune Do man who says Jeet Kune Do is exclusively Jeet Kune Do is simply not with it. He is still hung up on his self-closing resistance, in this case anchored down to reactionary pattern, and naturally is still bound by another modified pattern and can move within its limits. He has not digested the simple fact that truth exists outside all molds; pattern and awareness is never exclusive. Again let me remind you Jeet Kune Do is just a name used, a boat to get one across, and once across it is to be discarded and not to be carried on one's back." -Bruce Lee

I will try my very best to teach Jeet Kune Do the way Bruce Lee wanted it to be taught. - Tommy Carruthers

"Walk on" -Bruce Lee

Today, Tommy Carruthers (Jeet Kune Do practioner) is the closest thing to Bruce Lee's speed, power, strength, etc also Sifu Morten who is very fast as well....

Note: All Wing Chun or JKD practioners are just damn fast....... Don't blink.......

"When I first met Bruce I trained with him several times a day for several months. At this time I ran around with Bruce and we trained whenever Bruce had the desire to train. Bruce was a good teacher when he wanted to be but he didn't like teaching, he would rather train. Bruce was likeable and funny. It was great to be around him. I haven't seen any JKD people who are better than Bruce. I have however seen one in Scotland who reminds me of the way that Bruce was when I first met him. Bruce never asked me to be in the movies. When I fisrt saw Bruce in the movies I thought Wow. I know that guy and he has made it.The best thing that I got from Bruce was a way to learn and a path to follow." - Jesse Glover

"Bruce was all about speed and power. He was like a world class fencer who could close and fill any opening that he saw. It takes a long time and a lot of training to do this." - Jesse Glover

"A man can be strong but if he cannot use that strength quickly he is not powerful"

"Power involves the rate of speed at which the force is expressing itself" -Bruce Lee

First the science. At one time or another, youve probably had someone explain the physics of hitting hard. In short, increasing your speed is more important than increasing the mass of your fist. Technically, its stated by a simple equation:

ke=1/2mv2

In English, kinetic energy equals one half mass times velocity squared. In simpler terms, the energy of your moving fist and arm increases if the weight of your fist increases, but it jumps even more if your fist moves more quickly.

Therefore, if you increase the mass of your hand by 10 percent, you get a straight 10-percent increase in kinetic energy. However, if you increase your hand speed by the same amount, you get a 21-percent increase in kinetic energy. Obviously, hitting with greater speed pays off with slightly more than twice the kinetic energy. Speed is power.

Speed is all important: The power generated in a punch depends equally on two things - strength and speed. A small person who is not particularly strong can generate a large amount of power if they can generate high speed in their movement.
