HispanicFestival 2010 (Des Moines, IA)

LA PRENSA attended to the Hispanic Festival held September 4 & 5 in Des Moines, Iowa, in commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The public enjoyed typical dishes and also upstanding rodeo 'El Charro' family business presented by its owner Juan Pina.

The festival was also attended by people from other cultures besides hispanics.

The Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15, celebrating the independence of five Latin American countries: Nicaragua, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala & Honduras. Additionally, Mexico declared its independence in September 1916, while Chile was September 1918.
