Personally knowing several people that use Facebook, you are awfully paranoid. The problem is individual, not correlation.

When I first started using the internet as I child I was told some thing

"never use your real name or any personally identifying information online"

I always have operated online with an alias to protect myself. This rule is meant to protect yourself from stalkers and threats to your privacy.

What is it about the invention of Facebook that changes this basic rule? I feel like its a great place if you are a stalker or identity thief.You can find or be almost anyone if you play your cards right.

@themusicmatterz I don't feel that strongly about Facebook, but I do know it's a breeding ground for trouble. It's caused problems between families, couples, friends, all because people open their big mouths.

I was going to try to sign up for Spotify. Then I disovered Spotify now requires that subscibers have a Facebook account. About eighteen months ago, shortly after joining Facebook, when I realized how invasive and heck-bent on monitizing on subscribers' personal information and consumption preferences I de-activated my Facebook account. Spotify seems like a good idea but I really don't need Zuckerburg and Ek cataogue-ing my music preferences. Set up your FB account with junk information!
