My Day In Kona: The 2011 Ironman World Championships

I'm a Film and TV composer based in Los Angeles. I also moonlight as a triathlete.

I decided to bring a little extra baggage along my 140.6 mile journey at the world's most famous and storied triathlon, Ironman Hawaii. I was lucky enough to get a slot by way of the lottery and I wanted to soak in every second.

By wearing my GoPro waterproof video camera I was able to grab just over 3 hours of footage during the race - and I brought it on each leg of the day. Then it was a weekend of cutting and setting my music to the footage. What's resulted is a nice little compilation of the day - I hope you enjoy 14 hours and 10 minutes compressed into 8 and a half minutes!

Congratulations IRONMAN!

Your video brought me to tears... 29 years ago.... OCT 22nd. I stood and raced where you did. Kona, Class of 1982.

I'm 50 years old now and definitley an IRONMAN "don't photo". Still have the finisher's shirt, can't wear it. Never forget it.

Best race ever, bar none. I never felt my feet touch the ground the last 1/4 mile of Alii drive... best finish line ever!

Thanks for reminding me of when I was 10 feet tall.

Well Done ... my son did the 2008 FL Ironman, inspired me to do the 2009 Ironman.

Would not trade anything for our two years experience of the Ironman.

I feel really sad for the 3 dislikes ... wish they could experience what we know!
