This is the latest video of my 302 Ford engine running. Prior to the last video I had redesigned the distributor thinking I had a great idea to operate the points. It worked but very intermittently. I then went modern and replaced everything with a Hall trigger. The magnet is on a stationary post and the timer is similar to full sized automotive practice, it has windows around the perimeter of a drum. I have been playing with it and I think this is going to be the answer. It turns out that all the carb problems were actually ignition problems.

  • how much horsepower and whats the max rpm?

  • @MrCowcow27

It will spin and honest 7800 rpm. By that I mean just bringing the revs up till it peaks out, not just revving it. I would say it should make 5-6 horsepower.

  • what do you use for belts, like do you make them too?

  • @jack9102

    Just O rings.

  • well done sir. I'm very interesting on a handmade mini v8, so I decided to make one. I want to know how do you knew the pieces dimensions and how do you did to make the block, camchaft, cylinders, pistons, crankshaft and everything else. I'm looking for blueprints or plans but I can't find it

  • @cesarM777

I never made compete plans for this engine. A lot of it was scaled from a full sized engine. There is a fellow on the HMEM website who has drawings for a small V-8 engine. You might go there and do a search for it. His name is Steve Huck.

I guess in a sense you're correct. It's probably just semantics. Maybe it should have been stated that I have a miniaturized 302 instead of a miniature 302. It wouldn't make any sense to call it a model of a 100 1/3 engine.

  • even sounds like a 302. even conley engines don't have that real v8 sound. nicely done.

  • Ridiculously sick!!!! Love it!

  • @3nasacova Considering its based on the drawings for the Ford 302, I would say calling it a Miniature 302 is accurate. Its a 302, just a scale one.

  • incredible..........
