simple explanation. Earth that was is the first, destroyed earth that Galactica finds. Wash is a cylon, which explains his acting skills and why he will be able to be in the next movie/series.

i think i remember someone saying BSG used the same CG house as Firefly.

glad I'm not the only one to see this, I had just finished firefly (again) and started with Battlestar when I saw this and I kept having to go back to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I seriously had a major nerd attack when I saw it

Sonofagun! That does look like a Firefly. And I agree 100% with Voplumpitiki and firehound4035. I've heard Fillion has been trying to buy the franchise so he can make another movie. I'd tune in for that in a heartbeat.
