I disagree that all soliders that have laid their lives in war for the US automatically heroes: What about the ones who shoot innocent people from a helicopter as shown in wikileaks?
He definitely has a lot of heart. I don't think anyone will disagree with most of what he says here.
The only problem is right at the beginning where he seems to imply that the war on terror is totally separate from helping to sort out Afghanistan's internal struggles. That country will be a breeding ground for violent extremists until it stabilizes, especially since we took the liberty of destroying their previous government. If we can do that, we ought to help them install a new one.
@bodryn did her dead dad hump a lot of broads on the side too?
The early sixties do seem like a great time in a lot of ways, we were still wrong on race much of the time, but better than today on murder rate, drug usage rate, crime rate, divorce rate, STD rate etc etc
@Dealit707 Hmmm. I guess we should go into Norway, too. That's where the latest Al Qaeda plot was being hatched - in some apartment. Should we bomb Oslo?
@RuflessRecords I guess you get your "news" from gossip columns. I remember when real news let people know how their government was working. You are probably too young to know, but the early sixties were really great! Full of hope for the future. You couldn't know that, going on as you do. I am reminded of a girl I once dated whose father died when she was 12, and she hated him for it. So I guess it's easy to trash JFK with the same kind of thinking.
