In Ohio's primary election in the 10th Congressional District last week, 10,000 registered Republicans switched their party affiliation on election day and became "Democrats for a Day" -- allowing them to try to unseat the one Congressman who has been a national leader on every issue that reflects the core values of real Democrats: Rep. Dennis Kucinich.

10,000 Republicans in one Congressional District! In a race where his opposition was supported by Republican media, Republican contributors, Republican advisors, and a Republican political agenda.

In a special video message from Dennis, he explains what happened, why, and how you can help to meet the challenge that will surely be mounted again to put that seat in the Republican "win column" in November.

They tried. They failed. But, they'll try again.

With your support, we stopped them last week. And with your continued help, we can demonstrate in the next 10 days that we intend to stop them in November -- but only with your help. If issues like the war, not-for-profit health care, NAFTA, jobs, the environment, education, and the Constitution are important to you, please support the strongest, most consistent, most honorable voice in Congress who has the courage to stand with you and fight for what you believe: Dennis Kucinich.

Your a fag haha and a pussy. " we can't fight them so let's have a circle jerk" shows you that democrats are pussies.

  • @rcoones102

How is that cheating. Your pretty much saying we can't vote because we are a certain type of person. So in a way you are kind of like a racist saying we can't vote. O and you democratic theories have put us in the dumpster. Obama has gotten us in an even greater deficit than ever. You know it's funny you call republicans liars because Obama is supposed to be bringing troops home but he is doing the opposite. He is a liar and all you democrats do is say we are liars cheaters and stup

  • crossing party lines to throw and election is wrong and is illegal in some states.

  • Dirty tricks displayed by the Republicans...shows who they are and what they are willing to do to get their way. Cheat and cheat again is what they will do. People with principles are standing against them. Cheating can only get you so far and in this case is an example of their moral decay. Dennis is one big thorn in their side and they cant get rid of him.

  • Well another deceitful act by the rebublicans.

What do we dems do? Fight fire with fire, or get in a circle and chant "We shall overcome"

  • Who in their right mind would want to knock out Kucinich? He's one of the few congresspeople who actually gives a damn about the people he represents.

  • Free Country. We can vote for who we want. If I want to be a Democrat for a Day... I will and I can.

  • Well, actually, I was just trying to make sure we don't jump the gun. And I wasn't trying to imply that electoral laws in Ohio would keep it from happening, but I did figure they must somehow influence it. Of course, some time has passed since then and it does look like there were a bunch of Dems for a day. However, word is that they were voting for Hillary, not against Kucinich. They may have done so, but not as their primary task. Not that it makes it any less wrong.

  • And as Dennis says in this video, this is exactly what happened in this primary. It's another way to target working class, poor and people of color voters, and the politicians who truly defend their interests. Those congresspeople/senators are rare in the democratic party, and nearly nonexistent in the GOP. Dennis is one of the few people's candidate for Cleveland, but also for the whole country. We need him congress now more than ever.

  • You don't care what happened elsewhere? Well that's your prerogative. Dennis does (one reason I backed him when he was running) and the point was merely to show that the practice is systematic, nationwide. If you choose to ignore evidence related to that fact that partially answers your question even before you ask it, then what what are you basing your beliefs on? You're partly right, laws exist in certain states, but not in Ohio, Michigan, Georgia and many others.
