A young guys fight to get out of his wheelchair and into leg braces to do caliper walking while also getting in great strong physical shape. Charlie suffered a accident xmas eve 2010 breaking his back at t12 leaving his legs lifeless and useless. Hes classed as a t10 asia a and is regarded as being on the borderline to possibly do calliper walking. But this does not phase him. Hes spent the past year with surgeries, 6 months in hospital and baisiscally a year lying in bed with out exercise. Its now time for him to get in shape and if possible onto calipers and crutches to leave his wheelchair

  • hey, big respect as compared to your 1st video there is a big change for sure. I am a T10 complete but you appear to have much more definition at the abs. I would like to get a nice toned physique without bulking up. I'm unable to exercise much at the moment. Do you have carbs with your chicken and veg for tea and supper? Are there exercises and weights you can recommend 4 me at home? like i said im unable to get to a gym right now. I have 1kg and 1.5kg weights at home. thank you SCC!

  • hi brokit..definition of abbs is simply reducing the bodyfat. Select the right carb with meals. You want one with a low glyceamic index like brown rice.... this means theres less of a shunt for insulin response and fat storage. Lower the carbohydrate intake as well. Remember when you each sugars they are simply less complex brocken down carbohyhdrates. Exercise wise for abs, i just try and keep mine tensed most the day, try thrusting movements wih hips.

  • Hi Charlie, I've been following your progress since you accident via your Mum who comes to my yoga class. Just wanted to say this sounds so positive and am so glad you're finding a way of coming through this and doing such a great thing to help others in a similar fix. I'll be really keen to see how you go in in future months. with warm wishes, Jo

  • great work mate - can you demonstrate your ab work, i.e. situps, crunches etc? i'm a t-12, 4 years post, and this is my problem area/ thanks!

  • thanks SCC, when you say hip thrusts do you mean standing or sitting? Do you use free weights or weights machines in a gym? I got out 4 a 30 min push today to kick start things. I usually eat fresh fruit salad for breakfast would you avoid this type of breakfast because of high GI?
