i always thought that this song really fits well with Anakin/Darth Vader's psyche. i'm glad to see that someone else agrees. :D

@Hazenstones Maybe a late response since you've posted this a year a good, but what the hell. You are wrong because after he cut mace windu's arm off, he said what have I done? or something like that. He new he did something wrong, but couldn't turn it back so he became darth vader.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. That's the right way; the middle way, freewill. It is really hard to say 'no' to your greatest weakness. Just like Luke kept telling the Emperor. Windu was a complete mystery to me with the whole purple thing going on. I really like this song BTW.

@Hazenstones Yes , yes i have been in situations where i have been tempted by the dark side when anger flowed and its current nearly swept me away once in particular in atlantic city facing my worst enemy i nearly succum but i pulled back on the rains of the chairiot much like luke did looking down opon his hand after cuting off his father's . but how will you know the good side from the bad you may ask - you will know when you are calm at peace passive. i windu lost this and anikin fell

Understood, but have you ever been in a situation when you don't know what's right and wrong? Where the idealistic way of Jedi is just social clothing, and the 'good' guys are just a bad as the 'bad' guys? Everyone no matter your POV is subject to corruption and power. No one is untouchable and just 'good.' What Anakin had to do was not chose either path, but listen to his own freewill. He was blinded by a Manipulator. In one hand is all the power in the universe; on the other there is a knife.

@Hazenstones Hey of course theres such a thing as Good slaughtering younglings - evil clearly. Its that the means are not justified by the ends the means are the ends.thats what the jedi are all about its not what you do persay its how you do i9t its walking the path the tao not giving in to hate. the emporor was a douche .

Nice video by the way....I should re-watch the films. It been years! Thank for getting me excited about SW. I actually thought I was over them, but hey; Star Wars is fun, just a lot of fun.

Yes, that is correct. Lucas is not the thirty something guy he was when he make the OT; he is wiser and clever. In the prequels, everything is in reverse. So my emphasis is in why Anakin did what he did and how it resonates in Return Of The Jedi. killing your own son proved to be tougher than letting go of his idealistic POV of 'Good.' I actually feel relieved when he finally sees the truth of it and transcends the dark and light sides of the force. He was complete right there; balanced.
One thing; there is no such thing as 'good.' Something Anakin failed to see. There was no betrayal; Anakin did what he thought was right. In this case, it was shortsighted. Palpatine was a master manipulator, 'Goooood, goooood, Anakin,' remember? Palpatine was way too clever, even for some star wars fans. Most people seem to miss that; the fear of loss was the attachment; he just could not let go of what he thought was right, or 'good'. Awesome, I love the prequels.

Are you saying there was no betrayal from Anakin's POV? Because there certainly was a betrayal at least from the Jedi's POV. I would argue that it was an objective betrayal too, in that he was committed to them and then changed his mind and killed them. Betrayal is a practical, social concept, not abstract like a universal Good. But you're right, Anakin never decided to "not be Good". Of course he thought he was actually choosing the Right thing. (Though it was more than just short-sighted.)

What I was getting at in the description here (and in the video) was the conscious and unconscious psychological reasons for why Anakin ended up deciding that the Jedi were not Good.
Your analysis doesn't contradict mine, just places the emphasis on a different aspect of the story.
