i know the sink and the rot gut feeling "is this happening to me" and i know what it's like to want to end it all driving home between the lines in the road i swear that i've been through this before when nothing makes much sense except for doing yourself in razor blades are hard to hold when we're hit in the heart with problems that won't shift it's hard to admit that we're afraid when we're hit in the head with unanswered questions that repeat "how could i ever live after this day" we can take the hits and grow tougher collect ourselves to live longer and find there is no need to be afraid because we all have more to offer when we struggle to cope with whatever it takes to make the says we all have what it takes to make it home

  • Im just getting into these guys. Can anyone recommend some more of their softer songs like this one

  • @PunkxCherub It's hard to recommend some softer HWM songs because this is probably their most laidback song, but I'll try. Minno, At the End of a Gun, Things on a Dashboard, Arms Can't Stretch, are some good softer songs. I'd also recommend checking out the song Cold Night in Virginia by The Blacktop Cadence, which had Chris and George from HWM in it. They're much more laidback than Hot Water Music. But really, you can't go wrong with any Hot Water Music songs.

  • By far their best album.

  • @lancemclaughlin I agree. It brings back such great memories.

  • Funny, I always considered this an uplifting song. "We can take the hits and grow tougher collect ourselves to live longer and find there is no need to be afraid." Shit happens, you learn to grow throw it and make tomorrow better. At least that's the way I've always seen it :)

  • We all have what it takes to make it home.

  • @PunkxCherub Moonpies For Misfits.

  • @PunkxCherub I was always a fan of the song "Manual." I had a live version of it years ago, but have not been able to find it again.

  • @PunkxCherub check out chuck ragan's solo stuff. los feliz is my favorite album.

  • i know just how he feels. shithouse. but this song gives me hope, even after all these years.

  • Practice in blue, and loft are fucking amazing songs too by HWM.

  • this and radio kept me alive for a few years. it almost happened. and i dont' think she would have noticed. she's doing good. she's happy. that's all that matters. lets' just go with with the music. it's all good.

  • yeah, i havent heard this song in so long. this is like seeing an old friend that i could really talk with

  • @crassisdead thanks for the suggestions. They're really good. It's kind of wierd actually, I got into chuck ragan's solo stuff before i really heard of HWM and most of what i heard and really liked was a bit more mellow. I'm not really a true fan though, because i like his voice a lot better when it's just more chill
