@scoomagee just sent my 100 atr in 308 w back to eagle pass texas again for the second time.
ive used 150 fmj 168 smks 150 factory ammo, 5 different scopes, when i got it back they had new mounts and a cheap barska scope allready on it. Still wont do better than 5 inch groups @100 yds. i rekon i got a lemon. im gonna keep sending it back, i think its in the bedding action. heck a dang sloppy pos bore rifle should shoot 2 inch groups, anyways... my mossberg sucks right now glad you got a good 1

I have the mossberg ATR 100 in .308 cost me $400 otd and that with a low end BSA scope but the gun is dead on and as accurate as my buddies REM 700 for alot less. Mossberg also makes a .308 4x4 but it is junk

@fight4yourfreedom1 Bolt action or AR? The Bolt Action is a Mossberg 100ATR Night Train Special Purpose (.308). They are very affordable. You should be able to find it for under $500 with optics of some kind no problem. Not as much choice of accessories as a Remington 700 but it is still a great weapon. The AR is a Bushmaster XM-15 (ar-15). Price on AR's fluctuates almost daily.
How good is the scope and does it hold its zero? TIA.
BTW, were you using your own reloads or were you using factory ammo? I reload my own and I generally use 180 grain bullets of one brand or another. I also shoot a remington 700 instead of a mossberg and I was wondering how well the mossy compares to the 700. Also, I use a leupold 3.5-10x40 mildot scope.

@GaTiger11 Scope holds Zero but it is not that great. It is a barska and the light transmission is pretty cloudy. Factory ammo. I can get the rifle to shoot 1MOA groups but barely. The 700 is a better rifle. More aftermarket parts, more information out there about it. If you have a truely free floated Rem700 and know how to do it you can get a subMOA rifle easy. Not to say the Mossberg is bad. It just isn't a 700.

damn you flinch a lot!!!!

@theTNoutdoorsman98 B/C I do not let the but of the rifle rest on my shoulder when I am trying to make precision shots with a bipod deployed or using sandbags. This way my heartbeat influences the rifle much less. The down side is that the rifle jumps back and hits my shoulder much more violently than normal. So yes, I do flinch when it hits me, but only after the round has been fired.
