This is utterly disgusting. In addition to the fact that these chimpanzees are not allowed to socialize like even most chimpanzees in non-entertainment captivity, these images are misrepresenting chimps. How many people walk away from these stupid "zany" acts thinking that chimps are an endangered species that deserve protection? The comments on this page, that they are happy because they "have been raised like [human] children" shows the complete lack of understanding that these shows engender.

How many chimpanzees do they own?

What would be really cool is to get one of those really small miniature horses and have it ride on a chimp.

Please understand that chimps used in the entertainment industry are subject to terrible abuses such as canine teeth removal, electric shock and burning. When they get too big to handle, they're sold to research labs. To learn more about the plight of chimps used in the entertainment industry, please check out Jane Goodall's site.

They might as well use human performers since they're all dressed like people...

I prefer shows that use human performers. Humans have a choice to perform animals do not.

How come you don't see orangutans or gorillas that often in shows?

Circus Rosaire winters in Sarasota Florida and you can see live demonstrations at the Big Cat Habitat on Palmer at 1:30 on Sat and Sun until May.

Is this like an commercial for them? Where can I see them preform?

i've never seen a child on a chain !
i'm quite sure that given a choice they would rather be free.
All so very sad and unatural, would you dress your kids up and parade them like that ?

Actually, they are very happy and have been raised like children and probably treated better than most children. They actually like to dress themselves and pick out their own clothes. So, I would say they are very happy!
