I feel really bad for Cena. week after week, month after month, year after year, the fans boo him, but instead of turning heel and telling his haters to go to hell, he has to maintain his Mr. nice guy attitude for all the little kiddies to enjoy him and tell his haters, ah they can hate me all they want. Must be tearing him up inside.

@269KZoo4life Attitude Era ended in 2001. The Ruthless Aggression Era from 2002-2005 was not childish and cartoonish, so I dunno why you say it was always like that OTHER than the AE.

@269KZoo4life thats the thing those characters where cartoonish but they where done so in a manor that was fitting for the promotion an in a way that wasn't just flat out childish. This made them work and still get over with the fans. It's possible to acheve that without pushing it to the level that Cena has become. Cena with the chain gang was acceptable. When the marine gimik first started it was ok and then flopped. When he's getting booed out of his own home town it's time to change

@Kingofredeyes I'm sorry for getting to defensive before, but you did get me thinking with that last comment. I agree with you to a certain extent with Cena as far as how their going with his character on befitting the promotion, in my opinion they should've just kept him in that minimum between Chain Gang/Marine line during 2006 and I think he would've been OK. Now as far as where he's at with his fruity pebels clothing, super good guy strictly for kids, we need to deal with it.

As I said people like me have said you can have kid friendly and even cartoony characters as long as you do it reasonably and in a manor befitting of the wrestling promotion that you are in. That is the problem we have with Cena and his character. There is nothing about his character befitting of a wrestling promotion and that is a problem.
