Sorry for the rushed tutorial but have just found out my previous tutorial that had over 43,000 hits has become corrupted by YouTube!!!!! I will put together a better one as soon as I get the time. Hope this helps any beginners to Acid Pro on how to Beat Map and beat match a megamix compilation. Any Questions ask me. Enjoy!

  • First I would like to thank you for your excellent tutorial !

The beatmapper cannot be flexible throughout the track. Are you sure ?

What is your opinion about this video here on YouTube: How To- Beatmap ANY Song That Drifts

  • @26mook The beat mapper applet cannot cater for music that varies in bpm throughout.. however, as the video you mention states, you can once beat mapper is done, go to the individual clip properties and adjust the "pole" positions to the correct beat. However, despite using the PRO setting, I have found the sound goes a little "wow and flutter" if there is a major difference in speed, like old 70s and 80s dance tunes. Ableton live does a much more efficient job in my opinion.

  • @26mook Forgot to mention, the old version Im using in the video is Pro 6, This clip properties to adjust only appeared in Pro 7 and later.. so if you have older versions of acid you won't find it!

  • I just can't get the tracks to beatmatch spot on on Acid, I know how to work the beatmaper since I have experience with Ableton Live and other DJ software but despite the tunes are properly beatmaped and they are new and constant bpm tracks the beats are not totally in place.

I followed your advice of draging the beats by holding the "alt" key but when I fix an area of the song another gets screwed, it's kinda frustrating, Am I doing something wrong? Do I miss something here?

  • Your not doing anything wrong.. from what you say, I would say that the entire track is not a constant bpm. Unlike Ableton, the beatmapper cannot be flexible throughout the track. Using the Alt key to move the track slightly will affect the entire song, theres no way of locking parts, unlike in Ableton.

  • i've never used this before, i used recycle but once you chop up the beat it's only in rex format so it's limits me. i want to build my own kits quickly can i map to keys?
