    It's a pretty much a C melodic minor scale (or C aeolian mode, depending on which way you look at it) - C, D, E flat, F, G, A flat, B flat, although I also stick in the odd flattened 5th and chromatic note here and there.

  • Thanks very much for that. I'd really like an ES-175 for playing this sort of material, but, having said that, the 335 is very versatile and gets close to that sort of tone.

  • Very nice; I also have this backingtrack. The guitar is a bit out of tune and you should do more work on your phrasing.

  • please teach me how you solo...im very familiar with blues and major scales but when it comes to jazz i get lost..

  • I used a Sony Cybershot W-30. It was fairly cheap, too - about £120.
