Great, a tax on top of a tax. Value added tax on top of the income tax to pay for their bloated budgets and agendas! And all of this is being done literally at the point of a gun. Where does it end?

We need to abolish the current tax code - every last page of it, and implement a reasonable national sales tax. At the same time, we need to reduce federal spending. Finally, each state should eliminate all forms of taxation, with the exception of a reasonable state sales tax. The bottom line is that we need simplification and fairness.

Holy Sh** chill everyone, grow up.

To pay for our already very low government spending per GDP we need higher taxes.

If people truely cared about getting low taxes, which they do, then they have the political power to stop too many increases in government spending.

The ideas about how spending will always increase exponentially is wrong because of decreases of spending in Europe. A VAT is incredibly economically efficient, so it will help everyone.

I agree with 7Christian...the taxes people pay all over the world are just ridiculous!

It's ok to tax, I'm not saying it's not ok, but not the huge amount of money that we all get stung with...Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, VAT, Property Tax etc etc...It's BULL.

Anyway, if any of you want to know how you can reduce your taxes, find Jarl Moe on You Tube and watch his videos. Helped me out heaps - you got nothing to lose by doing so either (except a hefty tax bill....lolololol)

Most states have sales taxes. In Europe the sales taxes are not provinicial (states), they are national (a VAT). Also some US cities have sales taxes along with many counties. SO, what you would end up with is a city or local tax, a county tax, state tax and then a VAT. That is worse than most of Europe.

My property taxes in Texas went from $1100 in 1991 to $3500 in 2004. I got pissed off and move. If the US gets like Europe...I"m heading to Central or South America. This country is going to hell...this is getting insance. If we don't revolt, the federal government is going to enslave us.

They pull this Sh*t We need to REVOLT. We are already paying too much in taxes. About 1/2 a million people are still losing their jobs every month. Obama made a lame promise that unemployment wouldn't raise about 8% we are currently at 9.5%-9.6% unemployment and now they want us to pay NATIONAL SALES TAX!!!!! Taking back the sh*t tax credit and more I see.

Either get a fair tax and repeal the 16th amendment or have a flat income tax and have a constitutional amendment banning a VAT.
