I Think I'm In Love With My Big Brother (A Jemi Love Story) - Episode 23

Chapter 23 ;

[Demi]
A few days had passed ever since the Ashley incident and whenever Joe would knock on my door I wouldn't respond. Finally he would give up and walk away only to come back in a few hours to find me still in the same position.
But he didn't know it was much worse. I felt my heart falling to my stomach as I kept recalling everything. All I wanted to do was yell at him when he came back, but couldn't. Instead I stood silent, waiting him to leave, surprised by my own descision when I had rehearsed it over and over again in the mirror confidently. But I guess it wasn't good enough since it didn't work out like I had imagined at all, instead it was completely the opposite.
And Joe thought he understood one-hundred-percent, but it was least he knew. He knew I was mad at him for everything I did, but he had a different situation planned.
Joe was tapping his fingers lightly against my door, patient. "Demi.. for God's sake, please open the door," He murmurs silently. "And I'm not going anywhere this time. I'm going to stay right here." The sound of his head resting against the door, "I'm sorry if I hurt you in any way. I didn't mean to. I know you and Taylor just broke up and you were almost forgetting about him until Ashley came and I reverted everything to her, forgetting about you. I'm so, so sorry. Really. But please, just stop doing this. You can't stay in there. You have to eat something.."
But I didn't say anything. That was my response, not saying anything at all. Just leaning into my pillow and choking on another sob, letting the tear drop down my temple in soak into the pillow. I clutched my pillow closer to my chest, crying softly.
"I promise I won't bring her back here. I'll spend my time with you. All of it."
Then my voice surprised me, weak and unstable. "Then why are you with her?"
"Do you not want that?" I heard the smile in his voice. Knowing I was finally talking to him.
"I.." I shook my head, protesting. "N-no.."
"Then we'll have it your way. I'll call her right now in front of you only on one condition."
"What?"
"Open the freaking door."
I roll my eyes and get off the bed, positioning myself in the mirror and open the door, just as he takes his phone out of his pocket, touching the screen and dialing Ashley's number without any hesitation.
