In August 2010 Canon enhanced its L-series range of professional lenses with the announcement of four lenses -- the EF300mm f/2.8L IS II USM, the EF400mm f/2.8L IS II USM, the EF8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM and the EF70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM -- plus the EF1.4x III and EF2x III Extenders.

Like many of their illustrious L-series predecessors all of the lenses have been designed to meet the demands of professional photographers by offering a combination of optical excellence, consistently high performance, outstanding image quality, and superb build quality to provide photographers with exceptional results and reliability.

To find out more of the story behind the development of each of the new Canon lenses, and to look more closely at the capabilities of each lens, CPN visited Canon Europe's HQ in Stockley Park, just outside of London, to film the inside story on the latest L-series lenses. You can click on any of the three movie windows below to watch the L-series lens films.

  • @loyacarlo79 i hate it how people have started comparing 70-200 lenses with 70-300+ 1s you just can't compare them even if the aperture of the 70-300 was f10 its 300, its like comparing a good speaker system to a bad headset

  • this lens is good for sport and cadid shots not great . for a f.4-5.6.

to cost that much a new 70-200mm f.2.8 cost the same and better.
