It is a shame, however, that parody artists, reviewers, humorists et al are going to have to tread very carefully with what material they source.

I'm sure glad I live in Australia. I think about who stands to gain from this bill, and it looks rather clear they're still living in the 20th century.

I do wish to expand WoPairs on my 2nd channel when i get a capture card and dip into some commentaries to some of my fav PS3 games because i want to try something new besides machinima.

But I'm also in a safe spot cus of my machinima partnership but idk about other people who want to get in machinima/let's play's tho

I know that it won't happen cus of all the facts I knew about the video game corps with machinima :)

Just as it is now. Video game footage will be fine to use as long as the creators of the game allow it. Parodies are fine as long as you are paying for your instrumental tracks. The main thing some of us might get pinged for (now or later) is covers, because that falls under public performance.

Ok guys...I just have to weigh in on this because I just went through reading the current law code and everything that people are up in arms about is already in the law. The main things that this amendment to current law is changing is adding the words "public performance" to a few sections dealing with punishment for infringement. Please note that parodies are covered under fair use. Also note that if this passes, just like now, the copyright holder would have to still bring a case against you.

This won't happen because too many corporations like Machinima and Google and Blizzard would loose money.This would also make the unnemployment rate skyrocket because of the commentators/gameplay makers who rely on youtube as their main source of income.

@SilverLetomi Limiting their auidence is the perfect example why this won;t work. They think that by doing this they will make more money, but in truth people will stop using Youtube which means youtube will loose money, Blizzard will loose money seeing as this parodies and machinimas are making them more well known, and over all everyone's going to get pissed off
