Americans take pride in our history as a refuge for men, women, and children escaping war and torture. We also take pride in a justice system that guarantees us the right to a fair hearing. The U.S. immigration detention system betrays these ideals when it locks up immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers and denies them access to legal counsel and other basic human rights.

Our elected officials in Washington D.C. must know that we expect more from our government. When U.S. law denies rights to one group of people, the rights of all are threatened.

TAKE ACTION! Call your representatives and tell them to restore fairness and basic human decency to the U.S. immigration system.

  • What are people locked up for? How do you people even go to sleep at night knowing you locked someone up for them trying to live a normal life! While you sleep all comfy, they get treated like animals. For no reason, I have a close family member locked up in an immigration center. They pay taxes & wages. But they never committed a crime, but yet, you have to separate families and for what? So they should get a green card? They're plenty of other illegals 'round here, they're not locked up. Nice.

  • There are people who entered legally but have waited 10 years for the government to find documentation finalize the obtaining of a green card. It is good for America to have people who want to come here to work and live.

  • i am an educated filipino who had to sweat blood to find and get all my necessary papers to be with my husband here in the states, so why do these people want to be spared all the things i went through and just stay here. without papers. so unfair! they should be sent home. i had to wait more than a year to be with my husband.

  • they fucked me out of my job ,LOCK THEM UP!!!!!!

  • Thank you !!! People need to know the truth, keep spreading the word!

  • Great video! It's nice to see a pro-migrant views expressed on the web. This provides a concise overview of the flaws in our immigration detention system. Thanks for spreading the message!

  • Great video! A great introduction to what's wrong with the detention system, and thanks for putting the "take action" info at the end.

  • Thank you for helping to spread awareness of the out-of-control detentions of working migrants. These detentions are un-American and cruel. Whether they're documented or not, this extreme punishment is unwarranted, and places unfair suffering on people who have already suffered so badly in their home countries. They've placed their faith in the USA as a place of opportunity for them and their families, only to be treated as criminals. We need humane solutions, not brutality, for immigrants!
