  • It's been a little while since I played STO. But now that Foundry is out I am thinking of playing more to make my own.

So what I was trying to remember is instead of some spawn hax, isn't there a command you can give your away team to park them in a location? If so couldn't you set the target down in another room and leave the team behind while you go on ahead alone?

  • @obrecht72 Theoretically you could, but the enemy groups that would spawn would detect the fact that you have a full party in the map with you and level accordingly. STO decides how many enemies to spawn based on the size of the party -- harder enemies show up if you have a full team of characters versus just one singular member of a team. Also, its just kind of hard to convince people to order their away team to go sit in a corner. :-/

  • That's very likely, as there has been patches since then. You're not the first person who's told me that it doesn't work like it use to, so I'm thinking of taking the video down.

  • Hi Hav, did you ever test to see what would happen if a team of players beamed down to a spawn point made for a transport of one single officer? Such as the spawn point in this vid at 3:21.

    Alecto

  • i did that by acident once! lol!

  • @reignjuste Its wierd.. the terrain (x,y,z) surfaces are set.. but you can add exterior buildings, or custom your own internal ones.. or custom caves etc.. you just can't start making holes in the ground for pitfalls etc.. its for glitch reasons.. they dont want people going bananas on 3d surfaces and half of peoples maps trapping other players in dirt crevices..

You can place as many rocks, trees, giant crystals, weather effects as you like.

  • hahah awesome trick! The beta is a tad limited so we need people doing these sorta tricks at the moment :)

  • @WebTechGlobal I'm having a similar problem where the premade Vulcan ground map only brings along 2 BOFs, while on a premade ship interior it brings all 5. I know its not obstructions cuz i even moved the spawn point 20 meters into the air. I'm wandering if it has something to do with the map itself?

  • I just made a mission called Assimilated Initiation. Only myself was spawning, I'm wondering if the other 4 are being obstructed by even small objects.

I'll go try find an even open space.

  • lol believe it or not im trying to do the opposite, im trying to beam in with a security team like you did but every time i keep beaming in alone. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I moved the spawn marker several times to see if maybe they couldnt spawn in that specific location but no luck.

  • can u create your stage or you get only precreated stages.

I mean i want to create a planet for ground combat. Can i create a planet my self adding trees buildings etc?
