  • Incredible drum and cymbal solo. Thanks for posting this. Probably just before his death in 1985 or 86.His hands just got better and better. The greatest for sure!

  • You're welcome! - and some people still insist saying that Buddy was just "flash and speed", no musicality at all... haha, what an heresy! :]

  • inhuman. it never get's old for me...i always hear or see something new with Buddy. only drummers will understand how amazing his legacy & gift is. his brain was hard-wired to be a drummer...the best ever.

  • Buddy did it first, when everyone else who views this video was still in their father's balls! He influenced more drummers than anyone else ever will. Was he a difficult person? Doesn't matter, that is not the question.

  • @VASINGER now you have to explain to me why you think drums are not an instrument

ive been playing them for 9 years now and im pretty damn sure they are

they are considered the most important part of a band, they are naturally the highest dynamic instrument of them all and they are probably the oldest instrument along with bamboo flutes of them all

you can play them fully unlike something such as a turntable.

  • any genre or style can be rough it is not just rock music all of the time

you must not have explored rock music much which is why your natural taste of it is sour

any genre can be as good or as bad as the other its the actual music that counts, genre is just the intager..

i was and still am a huge classic rock fan but i play jazz mostly on drums.

  • 3:41 hello mr.Steve Smtih :) P.S. very good solo of Buddy. P.S.S. Buddy Rich never played bad solos. P.S.S.S. i know that you know that.. hhh

  • Who's saying jazz has no soul? Get the fuck outta here, you don't know anything about jazz!

  • @TheButtinski I agree that Rock music has some emotion- but Jazz has almost none. Its too cerebreal. But the fact remains, this man had the nerve to attack and entire genre of music out of pure ignorance. Musicians should support each other. Well, hes dead.

  • @VASINGER

Rock music isn't noise, and music isn't limited to being a "song". You fail. Good day sir.

  • It's funny how so many people bring up his personal dealings and how he was. Who cares? It's not like you were in his band or hanging out with him. His playing and sheer confidence says everything that needs to be said.

Id rather be inspired by someone who is real and confident then some wimp with fake modesty who is lying about it anyway. Even after hearing all the stories and the bus tapes hell it makes me like him even more. He knew he was good and demanded his band gave 110%.

  • @VASINGER thats a horrid thing to say man. You may not like the guy, but hell he can play drums a hell of alot better than you ever can. Dont insult the dead, cause that means your a fucking pussy.

  • @sachkofretef And Rock Music is NOISE.

  • @sachkofretef No, Country Music is an amazing musical genre full of greats like Patsy Cline, John Denver , Johnny Cash, and the best of the best. I dont care, but Buddy Rich had no right to say the mean things he did about Country Music. His music wasnt anything to write home about, IMHO. I bet he couldnt write a song to save his life. And drums are icing, but they are not the song.
