Heppner was supposed to perform next seasons Siegfried @ the Met BUT cancelled. hsi manager stated "Mr. Heppner decided that the notoriously challenging role was just not the right repertoire for him,” which I find suprising.
I hope everything is OK with him and it's NOT a health problem.

"Morgenlich leuchtend im rosigen Schein" I have heard beautiful version of this aria by Heppner, Botha, Kaufmann, and the first time that I heard a great version : James King. It would seem that the perfect voice for Walther is the jugendliche heldentenor or huge lyric voice.
