Bet it sucks to be the only fat kid on whole continent

  • Just keep in mind that this is not a documentary. This is a movie, which does not show historical facts but a story inspired by civilizations which we know very little about. There are debates among academics, and even sources from the spaniards (which are very biased) are contradictory. This is a modern filmakers vision, and not the religious beliefs or philosophy of those cultures. Not that the movie is bad, but it should be taken for what it is, fiction. Don't judge on this.

Every civilization have their cruelties. Besides, doesn't europe have their occasional burning heretics at a stake.

  • Pigs, pigs I tell you. That's what they were. Good riddance. ( :

  • @manioutube - im not saying any group is better then another. I agree, what makes the spaniards anymore "civilized" thinking rampages of MURDER are any more moral then sacrificial ceremonies. As an American child i was always brainwashed into thinking "okay - the INDIANS are the bad guys and the COWBOYS are the good guys. Now as adult , i am nauseous and ASHAMED at the thought i was taught to hold the cowboy as the "superior' .

  • @styace Plus, this is supposed to be Mayan culture, which would be historically incorrect with the Spaniard’s arrival. And I’m just not comfortable with the whole “god punished this culture” thing, when the Spaniards weren’t exactly what I would call “good Christians”. Good reading on the subject: Bartolomé de las Casas, a Spaniard priest who witnessed the conquista and fought for the indigenous people not to be classified as “animals” by our "civilized" occidental culture.

  • I’m not saying sacrifices didn’t occur, but sacrifices were believed to be necessary for the continuation of life. The people sacrificed, at least in mayan culture, were prisoners of wars between cities: killing during battle was not an aim. So it may be horror to us, but what would’ve they thought of the European culture? Is killing enemies during war, going through massacres of entire villages, burning crops to starve the enemy, torturing and killing alledged “witches” less horror?

  • @j16rdc Yes there is archeological evidence of human sacrifice, but the blood-thirsty crowd just enjoying killing for killing, I’m not sure that is factual. Plus from the looks and the language, it is supposed to be inspired by mayan culture. Problem: the Mayan cities had been abandoned when the Spaniards arrived; they lived in peacefully in small villages. The culture the Spaniards faced and fought were the Mexicas (aka Aztecs).

  • It's widely known that Aztecs/Mexicans are sodomites. Mexico is a nation of uncircumcised faggots! LOL!
