During the month of February of 2006, somewhere on the Southside of Chicago, four young men danced their way to popularity throughout the Thornridge High School community. J-Dub, Lucky and Reese were a part of a separate dance troupe. Tae, competing professionally apart from the rest of the group, knew the other guys well. They had all attended Thornridge High School. Reese was still a student there when Remy and DayRock attended a show at Kennedy King College where three of the four young men were performing. Initially, Remy thought of utilizing their dance expertise to back other singers with whom he had intended to work. One day while with these young men in the studio, DayRock decided to track some vocals which the group had written on the spot. Remy immediately knew he had something special. He took them to another local Chicago producer and did a couple of tracks on these young men. Along with a video taped in the streets outside of D.. Roc House, Remy decided to send their recorded performance to his ''brother'' Steve Russell, in Los Angeles, California. At that point Remy signed the young men to a management contract and stated, ''It's ''OffiCh-IL''. What this artist group soon discovered was that this was the same Steve Russell that penned hit songs for the artist group ''Troop'', of which he was producer and lead vocalist. They also discovered this was the same Steve Russell that penned numerous hit songs for B2K, Marcus Houston, Avant, Monica, Tyrese, Reuben Studdard and others. Currently writing and producing for the renowned organization known as ''The Underdogs'', Steve immediately fell in love with ''OffiCh-IL'' and they were flown to L.A. where they recorded a number of tracks with Steve, including the current local Chicago hit ''I Can't Tell You (Why)''. The group was also unaware that Steve had been contemplating starting his own label and that he had already decided to sign them as his first act. Things were just beginning to fall into place. The song ''Why'' was then presented to radio and instantly became a listener favorite. This group of young southsiders is now in the beginning stages of what could be a great career in the field of entertainment. RIP Gerald You and your music will be missed. Much Love and Respect
