Moving A Rose During The Growing Season

Sometimes you have to move a rose during the growing season like spring or even the heat of summer. I've picked up a few tricks over the years on doing this successfully and this video will show you how you can move a rose during the growing season.

Do you have a stiff board or something like that you can use to support the rootball on the "non shovel" side?

I would try to move those as if they were growing season if you have to move them now. Then watch them and if need be cut them back if the growth doesn't recover after a week or so.

this has got to be the best advise and the most creative vid i've seen on this topic. thx! i wish i had 2 shovels though. have to move 4 roses from front yard to back. the only luck i have is, it will be raining for the next few days. any advise on what i can do instead of using 2 shovels?

Greatly informative videos! thank you. I live in No California in a foothills valley where the winters are pretty mild. down to 32-31 degrees F. I have to move roses that are still blooming in October. I have tree roses and a bushy one that grows about 7-8 feet high and easily 4 feet wide. Should I treat as if it were dormant and transplant as your videos instruct for dormant (bare root) or as if it were growing season and needs a root ball?
