ST. PAUL, Minn. - An Imam is being questioned about comments he made about the United States in a YouTube video.

Many credit Imam Hassan Mohamud, from the Islamic Da'wah Center in St. Paul, for saving youth's lives from sin.

But other question comments he made on a YouTube video meant to raise money for the center. "This is a project that can save you from the hell of living in America," Mohamud said in the video.

Omar Jamal from the Somali Justice and Advocacy Center believes this kind of rhetoric is dangerous, especially for young Somali men.

Mohamud explained that he was speaking in general about hardships in America after 9/11.

"The hell term is a religious term," said Mohamud. "It has the meaning of suffering and pain."
