i got a batch of small cases but they were too small for any of my instruments, so not to waste them i made a tenor guitar to fit it,,
a tenor guitar is like a 4 string banjo and were popular in mandolin orchestra's in the 1920's, this one is made with rosewood back and sides, cedar top and can be fitted with many types of electronics, go to www.pauldoyleinstruments.com or if its still down try www.myspace.com/handmadeinstruments the tune is tripping up the stairs.
Thanks, I have a new one with a bigger body and cutaway made from flamed Jarah from Australia almost made so it will be interesting to hear that one next year ha,,p

nice work you do Paul.
I wish I could play something, what do you reccomend for a 20-something American girl without much musical knowledge?

At your age all instruments are open to you to learn, of course the main problem you have is finding time as we get older we make excuses why we cant spend 4 hours learning, where kids of 9 or 15 are told do your music study now,,try a guitar first then a mandolin for solo, or tin whistle if you like wind instruments, susato are less shrill than the brass whistle,,Paul
