Hellzapoppin, Then and Now

@morgaffi I agree. The girls in the original have long powerful legs that are like springs, and that makes all the difference. When I watch lindyhoppers and jitterbuggers today, those same physical attributes are usually missing, and modern pairs tend not to kick as high and hard at every opportunity as the original black dancers did. That Hellzapopin' routine is beautifully choreographed and tightly executed. It remains the all-time standard.

That is amazing. I have a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye.

This was a nice tribute and recreation of the original dance sequence.

Y'dun better'n good, Brian Grady: Absolutely brilliant!!!
Someone asked Frankie “Was that sped up?”
“No; that's how fast we danced!”

This was excellent! What a great tribute to the original. But...and I'm sorry to say this...the fluidity and physical power of the original is mindboggling. It was simply unbelievable, then and now. I'm sure the "new" dancers realize that and that's why they paid tribute to those who went before them...

@snoogleboogies I'm so glad I'm not the only one who gets teary eyed. This is a beautiful edit and such a wonderful tribute.
One of the best things I've ever seen. Ever.
