Wow, that is a beautiful little machine, clouds are some of my favorite things to photograph. gorgeous results on your time lapse... are you pleased with it? i have to tell sweetie that i've found my birthday prezzy :)
@MrBuckwilliam Yeah, I'm actually really happy with it. The quality, especially in low-light scenarios, is better than I expected. The only thing I really hate about it is Panasonic's sales tactics in regards to batteries. The batteries are proprietary, so you have to buy Panasonic brand batteries. The ones that come with the camera last about 45 minutes realistically. Additional ones range from $75-$200, and in some cases you need a special $90 adapter to USE the high capacity batteries.
@arcooke thank you for the feedback. i'll have g better idea of what to ask them to throw in the buck. having power to do filming is really important. i use a little picture snapper with vidoe capability and if i buy batteries i can easily spend 30 dollars a week. thank god for rechargeables. so i should shoot for two batteries in the deal... are there rechareable one for that?
@MrBuckwilliam You can ONLY buy rechargeable batteries for this camera. You can't use regular ones. The camera uses proprietary rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. The one you get with the camera lasts 45 minutes and has 1320mAh capacity. They also come in 2640mAh and 5400mAh. Those 2 capacities require a $80 battery pack holder because they are too large to fit in the camera, but they last much longer. It does come with editing software, but I haven't tried it. Everyone says it's crap.
@MrBuckwilliam The 2640mAh battery (model VW-VBG260) is $179, and the 5400mAh (VW-VBG6) is $199. The battery pack holder required for those is model VW-VH04.
